Thin Client for Web Using Swing
نویسندگان
چکیده
In this article we will present how we use and exploit the Java Swing elements' functionality to realize a Web client/server architecture environment where the client represents a so called thin client, i.e. a reduced presentation layer which does not contain any application specific software (called business logic layer or simply domain layer) and the server represents the middle tier between (thin) client and data.

Improving Web Browsing on Wireless PDAs Using Thin-Client Computing
Web applications are becoming increasingly popular for mobile wireless PDAs. However, web browsing on these systems can be quite slow. An alternative approach is handheld thin-client computing, in which the web browser and associated application logic run on a server, which then sends simple screen updates to the PDA for display. To assess the viability of this thin-client approach, we compare ...
متن کاملXML11 - an abstract windowing protocol
This paper describes XML11, an abstract windowing protocol inspired by the X11protocol develop by MIT. XML11 is an XML-based protocol that allows asynchronous UI updates of widgets to an end-device. To overcome high-latency connections, XML11 allows migration of application logic to the end-device. Implicit middleware enables transparent interaction between the end-device and the server. The mi...

This proposed work aims to provide a powerful Integrated Development Environment (IDE) client for Oracle database server. Using this client tool user does not require more knowledge of oracle database. With the intuitive DB tool GUI increase your code quality and reduce the development process time. By using this client software IDE, users can access and maintain the oracle software in an easy ...
متن کاملAn Architecture for Building Multi-device Thin-Client Web User Interfaces
We describe a new approach to providing adaptable thin client interfaces for web-based information systems. Developers specify web-based interfaces using a high-level mark-up language based on the logical structure of the user interface. At run-time this single interface description is used to automatically provide an interface for multiple web devices e.g. desk-top HTML and mobile WML-based sy...
متن کاملA Comparison of Thin-Client Computing Architectures
Thin-client computing offers the promise of easier-to-maintain computational services with reduced total cost of ownership. The recent and growing popularity of thin-client systems makes it important to develop techniques for analyzing and comparing their performance, to assess the general feasibility of the thin-client computing model, and to determine the factors that govern the performance o...
